A sodium bicarbonate exfoliant is ideal for taking care of your skin. Discover five homemade baking soda recipes here!

Depending on the combinations, we will obtain an ideal bicarbonate exfoliant but we can also enjoy the benefits of other natural ingredients.

Baking soda has become the solution to eliminate bad odors, disinfect, shine a surface, whiten teeth, cook and even prevent insect infestation in your garden.

But how does it work as an exfoliant? As it is an antibacterial, astringent and anti-inflammatory product, it is ideal for removing impurities from the face.

Acne, spots and blackheads? This product does not only kill dead cells and bacteria. It also prevents them from spreading.

In addition, thanks to its alkaline properties and its pH level, it does not damage the skin.

However, it is important to perform an allergy test on a small area before using the following exfoliators on your entire face. Some skins are extremely sensitive.

1. Exfoliant with sodium bicarbonate and water

Lemon is especially responsible for reducing spots, scars and bringing shine to your skin.

However, care should be taken with lemon as it can have the opposite effect, especially in the sun.

Apple vinegar contains alpha-hydracid responsible for removing dead skin and fat – appearing due to dehydration, poor nutrition, and a lack of vitamins – and balancing pH levels.

Additionally, sodium bicarbonate has astringent properties that kill bacteria and dead cells.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar (10 ml)
  • 1/2 glass of water (100 ml)
  • 1 tablespoon of sodium bicarbonate (10 g)
  • The juice of 1/2 lemon
