Find Out The Best Facial Scrub For Your Skin Type

Our skin type determines what type of exfoliant we should use. Avoid unnatural chemicals and go for natural alternatives.

Using the right exfoliant can help us significantly improve the condition of our skin. This simple habit improves skin regeneration, firms and brightens the skin, while removing impurities. Find out below which is the best facial scrub for your skin type. We offer you natural and homemade options.

Types of exfoliators

We must differentiate between two types of exfoliators.

  • Scrubs. These exfoliators are characterized by a grainy texture that is applied to the skin by massaging, thus eliminating dead cells.
  • Chemical exfoliators. The chemical exfoliant is made up of acids, which act on the skin. In this category are the softest and most natural exfoliators, those produced from enzymes of fruits and vegetables. To use them, you have to apply the ingredient to the skin, let it dry for a few minutes, then rinse your face with water.

These two types of exfoliators are effective and offer different alternatives for each skin type.

We recommend that you avoid unnatural chemical exfoliators.

These exfoliators harm the skin in the long run, and what’s more, have a negative impact on the environment, as many of them do not break down.

A facial scrub depending on the type of skin

Find out which facial scrub is best for your skin. You can do one exfoliation per week, or every two weeks if your skin is dry or delicate.

Dry skinfacial scrub

Dry skin needs deep hydration every day, every morning and every evening, to prevent it from drying out and the premature appearance of wrinkles. Generally, it is a pretty skin, but which requires that we take good care of it so that it does not get damaged.

Choosing the right facial scrub is very important, as most exfoliators can dry out this skin type even more.

We recommend that you use a mild enzymatic exfoliant such as, for example, pineapple.

You can use a piece of pineapple, or, once the pineapple has been peeled, the inner part of its skin. You may feel a slight tingling sensation if you have an injury or if your pores are large.

Oily skin

People with oily skin should preferably use a facial scrub once a week. They will notice the effects in the moment: the skin will stop glowing instantly and it will be especially soft.

The sea salt  is the best exfoliant that removes grease. For its use as an exfoliant, we advise you to use fine salt. On the other hand, for the body it is better to use coarse salt.

Salt cleanses deeply, and moreover provides minerals and trace elements.

Combination skin

Combination skin, where there are dry and oily areas, requires a neutral facial scrub that helps balance oil without drying out the skin.

Sugar is the most suitable product. You can use fine-textured whole cane sugar, and if you wish, mix it with drops of extra virgin coconut oil.

Sensitive skin

For sensitive skin, it is the same as for dry skin. She needs occasional exfoliations and suitable products.

In this case, go for the tomato, an enzyme alternative with incredible properties.

In addition, it is particularly suitable if you have burns on the skin.

Mature skin facial scrub

Mature skin has to cope with the appearance of wrinkles and spots, which must be combated with exfoliations that promote the regeneration of the outer layers of the skin. This way you will get firmer, more even and more luminous skin.

To exfoliate mature skin, we recommend crushing grape seeds, which are rich in resveratrol, one of the strongest antioxidants around.

You can even leave the seeds on your face for a few minutes to get both an exfoliant and a rejuvenating mask.

Acne-prone skin

Acne-prone skin requires a medium exfoliant that helps alkalize the skin’s pH, and helps fight superinfection. The solution you will find it in sodium bicarbonate.
