To start disinfecting the bathroom, you must first use gloves. This effectively prevents direct contact with bacteria. It also protects hands from abrasive cleaning agents.

Be careful not to use the same household tools for all rooms. It is best to have a brush or rag for each room.

The toilet and the tub or shower are the parts that collect the most germs. You have to be careful with the floor and the walls. Remember that the drain collects soap , shampoo, and hair residue.

Before you start cleaning the shower or tub, remove all residue. A damp sponge with bleach or stain remover will help remove mildew from the walls.

You should also clean the toilet with bleach for best results. It is important to rub well on the edge where the dirt collects. You can clean the seat with a disinfectant cloth or bleach.

In the case of the sink, the first step is to remove any residue of toothpaste or hair. There may also be sand coming from the water. You will disinfect the entire room with a sponge soaked in bleach. Then wash it off with plenty of water.

The floors and walls of the bathroom should not be forgotten. A cloth with warm water, soap and bleach is effective in these cases. It is important to remove all residue from the cleaner after application.

Disinfection errors

  1. Do not ventilate or aerate.  Some people tend to disinfect the bathroom with closed doors and windows. Open windows or an exhaust fan prevent the growth of damp mold.
  2. Forget the curtains. Due to their contact with water, curtains or mosquito nets accumulate mold. They should be cleaned with a cloth soaked in brine. Bleach diluted in water is also effective.
  3. Do not replace towels. Due to the humidity, the towels absorb bacteria. Ideally, they should be changed once a week. The same goes for the shower mat.
  4. Do not clean the accessories. The toothbrush collects a large amount of mold. This fungus can adhere to the brush handle. All bathroom fixtures should be cleaned with soap and water.
  5. Forget the mirror. Vinegar with water is effective in cleaning the mirror. You can also apply a basic glass cleaner.
